If there is one actor who is known to speak his mind, it’s Kamal Haasan. The actor was a keynote speaker at the Annual India conference at Harvard University and the veteran actor spoke on a number of issues, such as the right of people to express themselves, his dream of making Tamil Nadu corruption free and the prospect of joining hands with Tamil megastar, Rajinikanth, in politics. Not only are Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth considered to be catalysts of change, they also hold the same opinion of themselves. Both, on several occasions, have voiced their aspirations of improving the governance of their state, Tamil Nadu and ever since Thalaiva spoke about joining politics on December 31st, the two are constantly asked if they would ever ally with each other to contest for elections.

Kamal Haasan in the past, had mentioned that the decision of this kind of alliance would obviously take time. Rajinikanth, in his response to the question, has also always maintained that, “Ony time will tell”. However, when the 63-year-old actor was asked about the same at the recent Harvard University talk, he replied, “Red is not my political complexion.I hope Rajinikanth’s colour is not saffron because if it is, an alliance is unlikely.” So, the veteran actor has admitted to an alliance with the megastar, however, with certain conditions applied.

Kamal Haasan is all set to announce the name of his political party on February 21st. He also mentioned that his plan of action entails going on a statewide political tour to understand the needs of the people. Haasan, aims to bring about “clean politics in Tamil Nadu”,  and said that he wishes to be a politician with a difference. “My films were different from my peers and I want to be different in politics too,” he said.
