The Indian Army has successfully neutralised 3 fidayeens foiling the Pak sponsored terror organisations’ coward plot to target families and children of soldiers residing in Sunjwan Army Camp.
As the search operations are going on at Sunjwan Army Camp, STATE TIMES correspondent Malu Sharma reports from the spot that army and police will jointly conduct investigations into fidayeens entry into the Army camp after the search operation is concluded. Police officers say that they are working on various theories. While voices are pouring in for the role of adjoining Rohingyas settlers around vital Army camp that houses a school, hospital and over 150 accommodation quarters.

Army has given its statement on Sunday afternoon that five soldiers including two Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) have been martyred while father of a soldier lost his life, 11 people injured and three fidayeens have been eliminated in more than 24-hour long ensuing gun battle triggered post Fidayeen attack in Sunjwan based Army Brigade.
AK-56 assault rifles, UBGL grenades have been found from the spot. Special commandoes were dashed from Udhampur to Jammu for final assault while choppers and helicopters monitored the situation at the encounter site.
This is not the first fidayeen attack in Jammu, the region has witnessed several major terror strikes in the past.
On November 29, 2016, terrorists entered the premises of 166 Army Unit stationed at Nagrota-based 16 Corps headquarters on the outskirts of Jammu city killing seven soldiers including two officers.
In March 2015, there were two terror strikes in the region. On March 20, a fidayeen squad of militants in army fatigues stormed a police station in Kathua district killing seven people.
A day after, two terrorists were killed during a fidayeen attack at an army camp on Jammu-Pathankot National Highway in Samba District. Three people including two army personnel were injured in the attack.
On November 27, 2014, three soldiers and four civilians were killed in a day-long encounter with militants at the border village of Kathaar in Arnia sector, close to the International Border, of Jammu District. Three militants were killed in the operation.
On September 26, 2013, at least 13 killed in twin suicide attacks Jammu.

On May 14, 2002, thirty-six people were killed and 48 others injured in a Fidayeen attack at an army cantonment in Kaluchak, Jammu.
