HUBBALLI: The Anti-Corruption and Human Rights Forum has demanded police outpost in each village of the state to prevent crime.

State general secretary of the forum, Vijayalakshmi Dharwadkar, told reporters here on Saturday that the move will create fear among criminals. She said that though several rapes occur in the villages, the victims are helpless and the issues do not come to light. "The cases are hushed up by influential people. If a police outpost is opened in each village and two police personnel are deployed, people will not indulge in crime out of fear for police," she said.

Dharwadkar also demanded that schoolchildren be taught martial arts like karate.
