(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) Allround dominance by the defending champion EFG Bank Monaco moved it closer to overall leader Beijaflore as inport and coastal raid races marked Masirah Island debut on the third stopover of the 2018 EFG Sailing Arabia-The Tour on Saturday.

Four-time and current champion EFG Bank dominated the leaderboard as it edged Beijaflore in the coastal raid and also held sway in the two inport races.

French outfit Beijaflore continues to be on top of overall leaderboard with seven points but EFG Bank is close behind with 13 and Averda is third with 17.

EFG Bank is led by long-serving Oman Sail racer Thierry Doulliard and the crew includes former match racing world champion Mathieu Richard and Omani Ali al Balushi.

British-flagged Averda returned to the dock content with strong day on the water, finishing fourth in the coastal raid before scoring two seconds in the stadium races.

On Sunday, action will take place just off Dhuwwah, Masirah's largest town.
