Mumbai, Feb 11: A massive fire broke out in a shop near Maya Hotel in Mankhurd, Mumbai during wee hours on Sunday. Latest reports suggest that the flames have been doused and cooling operations are underway.

Earlier it was reported that the blaze had spread to nearby godowns. 24 fire tenders were on the spot. The cause of the fire has not been ascertained. No casualties or damage has been reported yet.

Earlier on Saturday, a blaze erupted in the Rustomjee Seasons, an under-construction building in Bandra East. According to the fire brigade, the fire was on the bamboos put outside for construction purpose. No injuries were reported.

On January 19, a massive fire erupted at the Navrang studio in the Todi Mills Compound in Lower Parel area whereas, on a day prior to this incident, there was a fire on the third floor of the sessions court building which had been accorded a heritage status.

One person died on January 6 when a huge fire erupted at the Cinevista studio in suburban Kanjurmarg. The worst fire related incident in Mumbai in recent times was Kamala Mills Fire in December last year. 14 persons were killed in the blaze.
