Progressive Students Alliance, a platform of left student fronts, announced laying siege to education ministry on February 25 demanding resignation of the minister who ‘utterly failed’ to stop continued question paper leaks.

Platforms’ coordinator Golam Mostofa, also president of Bangladesh Chhatra Federation, made the announcement at a press conference held at the Madhur Canteen of the university on Sunday noon.

They also demanded punishment of the persons involved in the crime and those involved in taking bribes in education sector to destroy it.

They further said that questions paper leak now has become a regular phenomenon as almost all questions of public examinations were available on internet an hour before the exams. Offenders assume that the can go without punishment and feel encouraged as none of the culprits were punished in the near past, Golam Mostofa said.

They also alleged that a nexus between government employees, coaching centres, guidebook publishers, political activists and some is working behind the question paper leaks, but the authorities have not appeared sincere or serious about peaking the nexus.

PSA will hold protest rally across the country on February 14 to press home their three-point charter of demands.

President Of central Chhatra Union GM Zilani Shuvo, Chhatra Front (Marxists) president Naima Khaled Monika, Chhatra Front president Imran Habib Rummon, Biplobi Chhatra Moitri’s president Iqbal Kabir, joint-convener of Chhatra Oikyya Forum Sarkar Al Imran also attended the press conference, among others.
