In the last four years, the runaway brides have decamped with over Rs 1.75 crore in 103 cases registered by the police, a report said. According to the data released by the state's Home Department, 103 cases were registered during 2014 to 2017 in which middlemen and girls from outside the state ran away with cash, jewelry and other valuables a few days after marriage. Of the 103 cases, police presented charge sheet in 57 cases and probe was pending in 17 cases and a final police report was filed in 29 cases after the probe. Nearly Rs 10 lakh was recovered out of over Rs 1.75 crore in the cases, the data reveals. Maximum cases were registered in Pali, Baran, Bundi, Jhalawar, Bhilawara and Jalore districts of the state.
