Govt approves consultancy services for ISO certification of gram panchayats

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state government has approved the proposal to undertake consultancy services for ISO certification of gram panchayats under Rashtriya Grama swaraj abhiyan (RGSA). The proposal was submitted by KILA. The government had earlier issued administrative sanction for utilizing Rs 500 lakhs for RGSA components which include Rs 400 lakhs for ISO certification of grama panchayats and Rs 100 lakh for monitoring evaluation and programme management.

The activities sanctioned under ISO certification includes engaging consultants for ISO certification for Rs 200 lakhs and identifying certification agency for gram panchayats which costs Rs 200 lakhs.


The director of panchayat had forwarded a proposal submitted by KILA for undertaking consultancy services for ISO certification of grama panchayats at a total cost of Rs 2.36 crores. The government has approved the proposal on the condition that the exceeding amount of Rs 36.55 lakhs should be met from the fund of Kerala institute of local administration (KILA)
