Thoubal, February 09 2018: Philem Rohan, a cyclist who undertook a 28 day lone cycle journey from India Gate in New Delhi to Moirang in Manipur covering a distance of 2800 km approximately was felicitated today by Thoubal Keithel Vendor and Dukandar Association at Thoubal Bazar.

Rohan Philem, the 22 year old started his journey from the historic India Gate on January 8 with the message 'Pollution Free India'.

He had cycled under the theme "A Journey taken with Extra Mile".

He reached Imphal on February 5 .

Rohan is the only son of late Philem Budhi Singh and Philem Ongbi Sunita Devi.

Rohan was brought up by his grandparents, aunts and uncles after his parents divorced when he was in class II .

Thoubal Municipal Council ward no 10 councilor Hijam Jamuna Devi, social worker Konsam Michael attended the reception ceremony today as presidium members.

Rohan was honoured with a garland and shawl as appreciation and encouragement for his future endeavors.

Women vendors of Thoubal bazar gifted the young cyclist a sum of Rs 4000 .

During the ceremony Rohan narrated moments he encountered during his journey.

The journey is only the beginning for this young cyclist.

Rohan is now eyeing to set a world record by taking another ride from Kanyakumari in South India to Kashmir, a distance of about 2856 kms.
