Afghan government supports Pashtons uprising for justice in Pakistan

(MENAFN - Pajhwok Afghan News) (Pajhwok): President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on Friday announced his support to the peaceful anti-terrorism and anti-extremism movement in .

On his social media account, the president wrote: 'The civic movement aimed to build united front against extremism is historic and based on the principles of Khan Abdul Ghafar Khan's philosophy of non-violence.'

The president said he was expecting the international community and Pakistan to support the movement.

He asked the media to reflect the real picture of ongoing protest and victims of terrorism in Pakistan to the global community and specially the Muslim countries.

He added the ongoing uprising the Pakistan was innovative and historic and should be morally supported.

The unprecedented protest sit-in by the Pakistani Pashtuns entered a 10th day on Friday in Islamabad, despite assurances from the country's prime minister to meet their demands.

A meeting between representatives of the Qaumi and Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi failed to convince the protesters to end their sit-in in the federal capital, the Pakistani media reported.

The premier had assured tribal elders of employing all resources to arrest suspended SSP Rao Anwar involved in the killing of Naqeebullah Mehsud in a staged police encounter in Karachi on January 13.
