V. Joseph Thomas, former Director General of Police, died here on Saturday. He was 76. Mr. Thomas, who had served as head of the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau and chairman of the Greater Cochin Development Authority, was instrumental in the construction of the Jawahar Lal International Stadium at Kaloor.
Projects such as renovation of Perandoor canal, beautification of the Marine Drive etc. were taken up by him.
