KOLKATA: The CPM Bengal faction has come to the fore with criticism in connection with the allegations of financial fraud case raised against CPM Kerala state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan’s son elder son Binoy Kodiyeri.
The CPM Bengal faction has said in the state committee that the case against Binoy Kodiyeri has tainted the image of the party, the allegations regarding the same could have been avoided.
It was senior CPM leaders Manab Mukherjee and Moinul Hassan who raised criticisms regarding the same at the state committee. Senior leaders of the party voiced the opinion that the son of a party state secretary getting involved in such allegations has tainted the image of the party and that the politburo must make an announcement about the party’s stance in the issue.
The criticism was raised in the state committee meeting held on Tuesday and Wednesday. They also raised criticism against mentioning of party general secretary Sitaram Yechury’s name in connection with the case in the CPM Thiruvananthapuram district meeting.
