Chief secretary Anjani gets 3-month extension

PATNA: Bihar chief secretary Anjani Kumar Singh has been given service extension for a period of three months from scheduled date of his retirement, February 28.

General administration department's principal secretary Amir Subhani told TOI on Saturday that an order to this effect was issued by government of India on Friday. Singh was appointed Bihar chief secretary on June 25, 2014 during the government of Jitan Ram Manjhi.


Singh, an IAS officer of the 1981 batch, was previously principal secretary to the chief minister from August 2012 onwards. Singh served CM Nitish Kumar until he resigned as chief minister on May 17, 2014.


Anjani has held key bureaucratic positions in Bihar government in the past including principal secretary in education department and art, culture and youth affairs department among others.
