The Panel of Judges for the selection of the best integrated steel plant in the country for the award of the Prestigious Prime Minister’s Trophy for 2016-17 reviewed the performance of Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) on Friday on a range of enabling parameters, a BSP press release informed.
The panel of Judges comprising of such eminent personalities as VS Jain, Former Chairman SAIL, Justice Pritam Pal Singh, Former Haryana Lokayukta; KAP Singh, Former MD, Bokaro Steel Plant; V Shyamsunder, Former MD, Durgapur Steel Plant; HM Nerurkar, Former MD, Tata Steel; Neeru Abrol, Former C & MD, National Fertiliser Limited and Prof. Ranjan Das, IIM Kolkata arrived in Bhilai a day earlier on February 8, 2018.
The eminent members of the panel were accorded a warm welcome by M Ravi, CEO, BSP and senior members of the Management team.
The POJ are accompanied by Dr. Sunil Gupta, Ministry of Steel and PMT Secretariat Member Shri B Sudhakar.
On February 9, 2018 the Panel of Judges visited Ispat Bhavan and viewed a presentation of the performance of the Plant and held detailed discussion with the Management Team of Bhilai Steel Plant on a range of issues.
At the outset M Ravi, Chief Executive Officer, Bhilai Steel Plant welcomed the eminent panel members. All members of the Panel of Judges evinced keen interest in the various aspects of Bhilai Steel Plant.
Present on this occasion were MK Barman, ED (P&A), Shri TB Singh, ED (Works), Reeta Bannerjee, ED (MM), Dr KN Thakur, Director I/c (M&HS), Shri BP Nayak, ED (P&A), general managers and senior officers.
The dignitaries thereafter had a detailed Plant visit and during the course of which they visited Coke Oven Battery 11, Plate Mill, Universal Rail Mill and Mahamaya Blast Furnace 8. During the course of their visit the Panel of Judges also visited the Rose Garden.
Later in the afternoon, the Judges viewed presentations on Sustainable Development covering areas as CSR, NOHS, Environment Management, Safety, Research & Development at the Human Resource Development Centre. They interacted with CSR beneficiaries and went round an exhibition depicting the CSR initiatives of the Plant at the same venue.
The dignitaries also viewed a presentation on sustainable development, followed by a presentation of QC and viewed exhibition of CSR Beneficiaries, QC Projects and Cultural activities. A creative communication skit was also viewed by the Judges to cap up the day’s programme.
