The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Gen Kale Kayihura has lashed out at some Ugandans who work tooth and nail to tarnish the image of Uganda Police Force.

The police boss said though the force has some few wrong elements within its ranks, those criticizing it are not clean either.

He made the remarks on Friday during the passing ceremony of 58 police officers who had finished a four months intermediate Command and Staff Course at the police training school in Bwebajja, Wakiso District.

Kayihura who believes police shouldn’t be judged in isolation from the society they operate from, said critics want to give the impression of an institution in crisis, which is not the case.

The police chief’s comment comes at the backdrop when one of their own ASP Muhammad Kirumira is accusing the force of being infiltrated by criminals.
