Congress MLC C M Ibrahim on Saturday said there were no differences between him and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, and that he was not defecting to the JD(S).

Ibrahim, who met Siddaramaiah at his official residence Cauvery, later told reporters that he would remain in the Congress.

"Siddaramaiah and I are like brothers - there are no differences between us. My defection to the JD(S) is a media creation. I have no intention of leaving the Congress," he said.

Ibrahim said that the Congress would come back to power under Siddaramaiah's leadership.

"My relationship with JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda is good, which is why I had met him. But this doesn't mean that I am leaving the Congress," he said.

Ibrahim said he would participate in programmes attended by Rahul Gandhi.

Upset with Siddaramaiah for denying him a cabinet berth, Ibrahim was hobnobbing with the JD(S), the party he quit 12 years ago.
