The police booked six college students from Mukkom who allegedly attacked a civil police officer while intervening in a clash between students on the KMCT campus on Thursday.
The case was registered against them on the basis of a complaint filed by Shafeeque Koodaranhi, the injured policeman.
‘Vehicle attacked’
The clash took place around 4.30 p.m. when the policeman was at the wheel of the patrolling vehicle.
The police said the gang damaged the police vehicle. Another policeman also sustained minor injuries.
The CPO, who underwent treatment at a private hospital, was discharged on Friday. All the accused were charged under Section 147 of the Indian Penal Code for rioting.
