C.K. Ramaiah honoured for his contribution to fields of education and heritage

Chennupati Kodanda Ramaiah, Dean, School of Media and Communication, Pondicherry University, was presented with the prestigious Dr. S. Radhakrishnan Education Excellence Award of the Kolkata-centred Indian Institute of Oriental Heritage, in New Delhi, recently.

Dr. Ramaiah was given the award by Satyanarayan Chakraborty, institute vice-chairman and Ramkrishna Sastri, chairman, during the 41st conference on “Oriental Heritage”. The award is in recognition of his meritorious work and contributions in the fields of education, heritage and culture.

Stint with DRDO

Dr. Ramaiah, in his 34-year career of research and teaching, has published good number of research papers in national and international journals, developed online exhibitions, taught several courses related to heritage, culture, its preservation with the help of technology.

A former scientist of the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), he has written five books and published over 125 research papers in national and international journals.

Dr. Ramaiah was nominated for inclusion in the biographic manual Marquis Who is Who in the World, twice in 1989 (9th edition) and in 2014 (31st edition).

His profile was also featured in the Outstanding People of the 20th Century, Who’s Who in Australia and the Pacific Nations and other reputed publications.
