Bollywood social film, Akshay Kumar and Sonam Kapoor starrer PadMan hit the theaters on February 9, 2018.
The first day collections of the movie are out and the extraordinary tale of an ordinary man is off to a decent start.
Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter and wrote, “#PadMan has a DECENT start… Fri ₹ 10.26 cr… The biz, expectedly, picked up towards evening/night shows… The journey ahead is crucial… Sat + Sun should witness strong growth for a good weekend total… India biz.”
The movie presents the story of a man called Arunachalam Muruganantham, who braved all odds to ensure his wife gets a healthy and long life, giving India its very own ‘PadMan’.
Akshay Kumar plays Lakshmikant Chauhan in the movie while Radhika Apte is seen as Gayatri, his doting wife.
Sonam Kapoor plays the role of Pari, a modern young woman of today.
