THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP national executive committee member V Muraleedharan has said that the vigilance under the LDF government has turned into an agency for hiding and reaching settlements in corruptions.
“DGP Lokanath Behera was made the vigilance director by violating rules. According to vigilance rules the department should not stay without a director for more than six months but it’s been almost an year now since one man is acting as the state police chief as well as the vigilance director. Besides, the temporary vigilance director settling almost 700 cases within this 11 months raises suspicion,” he said.
Muraleedharan also alleged that the government under the leadership of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has turned the vigilance, which is supposed to be an investigating agency, into an organisation to protect those corrupt people who are friends with the government.
