Propelling the Tata Tamo Racemo+- in a way that Greenpeace would approve is a 202bhp electric motor which draws power from a lithium-ion battery pack. Tata claims that the battery pack on the Racemo EV is capable of keeping the electric sports car running for 350 kilometres and also gets fast charging tech.

Tata Motors also showcased the original Tamo Racemo concept revealed at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show at Auto Expo 2018.

The Tamo Racemo is powered by a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that while the same one found on the Nexon produces more power when mounted in the middle of the Racemo.

In the Tata Tamo Racemo, the engine cranks out 186bhp and 210Nm of torque paired to a 6-speed AMT gearbox with paddle shifters. Tata claims that the Racemo is capable of sprinting from 0-100kph in around 6 seconds.

In terms of design, the Tamo Racemo is unlike anything we've seen from Tata Motors thanks to its multi-material sandwich MOFlex structure that melds two composite structures together with the use of foam injected between them to form single lightweight and rigid panel.

While the way its composite body panelling is made may seem cool, it is the way that the panels are shaped that draw attention to the Tamo Racemo wherever it goes. From its low stance to the sleek LED headlamps connected by the wide grille. The sides and the rear with the butterfly doors, the flying buttresses and the centrally mounted exhaust do remind you of numerous supercars from around the world as well.

The interior of the Racemo looks like something out video game with three digital displays and a whole host of buttons and dials on the steering wheels, on most sections of the centre console. Other features include red accents for the paddle shifters, switchgear, the large A/C vent in the centre and the pull straps for the door.

DriveSpark's Thoughts On the Tata Tamo Racemo+- EV At Auto Expo 2018

The unveiling of the Tata Tamo Racemo at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show saw many jaws in India and abroad drop down in absolute shock. While Tata decided not to put the Racemo into production there were quite a few groans heard as well and while the arrival of the EV at Auto Expo 2018, may give many hope, Tata's cost-cutting decisions last year mean that seeing this sports EV on the road is still a distant dream.
