The exam will take place amid tight security at 301 centres across the state and a total number of 685 flying squads have been formed to check malpractices. "Exactly, 20,69,275 candidates are to write the exam. We have taken fool-proof measures to avoid any irregularities," a higher official said.
The exam is being conducted to recruit personnel for the posts included in Tamil Nadu ministerial service, Tamil Nadu judicial ministerial service, Tamil Nadu survey and land records subordinate service and Tamil Nadu secretariat service.
According to sources, the TNPSC will recruit a total of 9,351 personnel through this test. Last month, out of the 9833 candidates appeared for the main written examination conducted to fill 1094 Group-II vacancies of Tamil Nadu government, the TNPSC announced that 2166 were shortlisted for oral test.
The vacancies were related to 18 categories of posts such as Deputy Commercial Tax Officer, Sub-Registrar Grade-II, Junior Employment Officer, Assistant Inspector in Local Fund Audit Department, Senior Inspector of Co-operative Societies, Supervisor / Junior Superintendent in Tamil Nadu Agricultural Marketing / Agricultural Business Department, Revenue Assistant, etc., included in Combined Civil Services Examination-II.
