Special teams fan out to Kerala and A.P. in search of Binu Pappachan

With the arrest of over 75 rowdies at one stroke, Police Commissioner A.K. Viswanathan has given strict instructions to nab all rowdies evading arrest.

The city police have a list of nearly 1,000 persons, including gangsters, murderers and rowdies, in its records waiting to be arrested.

“Special teams have fanned out to nab Binu Pappachan and his associates. Teams have been sent to Kerala and Andhra Pradesh. We are working on certain leads and will catch them soon,” a senior police officer said.

The Police Commissioner has instructed police personnel to execute non-bailable warrants pending against any rowdy expeditiously. Police are also looking at the call records of mobiles phones seized from rowdies.

Meanwhile, two anti-socials, including one who escaped arrest at gangster Binu’s birthday bash, have been secured at Pattukkottai on Friday. The police got a tip-off that Mukesh, who was there at the party on Tuesday, was hiding at his brother Vicky’s place.

A team of Chennai police rushed to Pattukottai and nabbed Mukesh and Vicky. The two are now being interrogated.
