Municipal Administration Minister K.T. Rama Rao has asked that the 800 proposed bus stops in the city be ready by March-end during a meeting with GHMC Commissioner B. Janardhan Reddy, Additional Commissioner Advaith Kumar and working agencies here on Saturday.

GHMC has completed tender process for the bus stops, which would be graded into A, B and C based on facilities. He said the number of ‘A’ grade bus stops should be increased and suitable sites handed over to working agencies. If the deadline is not met, the government would not hesitate to cancel contracts of agencies, he said.

Bus bays should be set up by discussing with government organisations and offices which were located adjacent to the road and a meeting would be convened next week with the secretaries of the departments concerned to discuss the issue.

The Minister also asked the GHMC to coordinate with the Metro Rail MD on setting up bus stops in Metro corridors.
