A traffic constable, who was checking vehicles for drunk driving, was allegedly manhandled by a drunk youth on Road No. 1 of Jubilee Hills on Friday night. This comes a week after a traffic inspector was pushed by a person on Road No. 82, Jubilee Hills.
B. Lakhsmi Narayan Reddy, inspector, Banjara Hills traffic police station, said, at around 11.30 p.m. on Friday, constable B. Jitender stopped a car for breathalyser test while another constable was recording the scene on a video camera. “A person in inebriated condition seated next to the driver came out of the car, started arguing and manhandled the constables,” he said.
The youngster was identified as Ankith Singh, a businessman.
Based on a complaint lodged by Mr. Jitender, Jubilee Hills police registered a case against Singh. Mr Reddy said blood alcohol content of Ankith’s friend Dileep, who was driving, was 185 ml, which is above permissible limit.
