"Based on a tip-off, a team led by Thiruvallur superintendent of police Sibi Chakravarthy and DSP Pugazhendi conducted a search in forest area in Pullarambakkam, where they found Dasarathan and Shenbagavalli," sources said.
The couple were taken to a secret location and were being questioned.
"Sister of Bhagat Singh, one of the key leaders of Maoist movement who later surrendered before the police, Shenbagavalli is suspected to be involved in the bomb attack on Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu's car in 2003 in Tirupati," sources added.
It is said that Shenbagavalli and her husband came to Thiruvallur district recently to recruit people for their mission. "Dasarathan is a native of Thiruvallur," sources added.
"Shenbagavalli was responsible of canvassing people to join the fight. The police were questioning them to know their plans and also their network in Thiruvallur districts and other parts of Tamil Nadu. Several cases were also pending against them," sources said.
