Shiromani Akali Dal MPs, led by the Union Minister and Bathinda MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal, on Friday met the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh urging him to expedite resolution of cases with regard 1984-anti Sikh riot for speedy justice to the victims.
The demand came in the wake of Congress senior leader Jagdish Tytler’s video wherein he was allegedly accepting his involvement in killings of Sikhs in Delhi during the riot.
SAD’s Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Gujral said that the Union Home Minister was urged to take action against Tytler in view of new evidence against him.
Gujral said that Rajnath Singh has assured that the CDs relating to Tytler's alleged acceptance will be sent to the SIT investigating the anti-Sikh riot related cases. The Home Ministry will also speak to Delhi Police Commissioner in the matter.
“The delegation stressed before Rajnath Singh that it was high time that all the cases were brought to logical conclusion and justice to victims was meted. The delegation also stated that with NDA at the helm of power, there was expectation among Sikhs of speedy justice.
