(MENAFN) During the ten months ended on January 20, 2018, Iran's exports of saffron increased 33%, vice chairman of Iran's Saffron National Council told Mehr news agency on Friday.
According to Gholamreza Miri, Iran exported 160 tons of the product during the said time span, registering 33% growth in comparison with the same period in the year before.
United Arab Emirates (UAE), Hong Kong, Spain, Afghanistan and China were the top
importers of Iranian saffron, as previously reported.
Iran's weight of saffron exports during the past Iranian calendar year (March 2016-March 2017) grew 60 percent compared to that of the preceding year.
