China has lately been pursuing a policy to accord "high priority" to its neighbours and that includes Nepal, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Yu Hong said today. Yu was addressing a function organised jointly by the Chinese Embassy here, the government of China's Yunan province and Nepal's Ministry of Tourism and Culture, to celebrate the Chinese Year of the Dog. She also mentioned about many collaborations between Nepal and China in various fields in 2017 adding that the year was also important from China's point of view. "China wishes to see a prosperous Nepal and government of China has been involved in various collaborative projects to extend help for the development of Nepal," she said. The year 2017 saw a 34 per cent increment in the inflow of Chinese tourists to Nepal as compared to the previous year, the Chinese envoy said. In the year 2020, the number of outbound tourists from China will reach 200 million and some percentage of them will surely visit Nepal that will be instrumental in boosting Nepal's tourism, said an official of the Chinese delegation from the Yunan province which was here on a visit.
