Police booked a private school principal after a video went viral, showing one of its teachers caning students for allegedly not paying fees.
The case was booked on Friday at Hussaini Alam police station after the police were moved to act by the video. According to the police, the incident in the video occurred at Gowtham Model School in December but came to light only recently. The video shows a bunch of students made to stand out of the classroom, with their hands stretched.
The video created a furore on Friday as it comes on the heels of a class IX student’s suicide in Malkajigiri, allegedly for being humiliated over non-payment of fees.
