It was a day of recovery for the security forces in Palamu. Security forces recovered the body of a Maoist identified as Mahesh Bhokta alias Guardian who was mortally wounded in an encounter with the security forces at Jhungloo forest under Chhaterpur sub-division on Thursday, said DSP Chhaterpur Shambhu Kumar Singh.
According to Singh this Maoist remained unclaimed by the fellow Maoists who fought with security forces on Thursday but abandoned this mortally wounded comrade then who remained flattened all the intervening night of Thursday / Friday and today during our search operation his body was recovered.DSP further said today we recovered one minor girl who too got injured in the Thursday encounter.
The minor injured girl has been admitted in the sadar hospital Daltonganj.
She has confessed to the police that Rakesh squad of the Maoists in which she too was there had set afire three road making equipments in Chhaterpur last week.
DSP said the girl told the security forces that she was per force inducted in the Maoist outfit where she performed their work like cooking food etc for them.
DSP further added that she wanted to leave this outfit but was prevented from leaving it by other Maoists.Describing her health status DSP quoting doctors of the sadar hospital said she is stable and responding to treatment.
Security forces believe they may get two or more heads down as the Thursday encounter was too crushing on the Maoists.
DSP said ‘ We have information that some Maoists are down with injuries most critical and thus their recovery is too remote since the area has been cut off for them and their getting any assistance medical or otherwise is too remote.
