BJP national general secretary Ram Lal called upon party workers in Nagaland to ensure the victory of BJP-NDPP alliance in the February 27 Nagaland Assembly election, a party release said here today. The BJP has formed an alliance with Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) to fight the elections.
As per the seat sharing arrangement the BJP would contest in 20 seats and NDDP in 40 in the 60-member Assembly. Lal called upon party workers in Nagaland to work hard to achieve the goals of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's development agenda and peace in the region and SabKa Saath Sabka Vikas, it said. Lal accompanied by North East Organisation in-charge Ajay Jamwal arrived in the state yesterday, a release issued by BJP Nagaland Unit Media Cell convener K James Vizo said here today. During his two-day visit, Lal held a joint co-ordination meeting with BJPs pre-poll alliance partners Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party. Lal appealed to party's rank and file to extend its full support and cooperation to alliance partner NDPP wherever there is no BJP candidate, Vizo said. The two BJP leaders left for Shillong today, Vizo added.
