Which swamp is the Trump Administration draining: the swamp prior to his inauguration or the one since he became president?
Recently, officials at the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) expressed concerns that Secretary Ben Carson risked violating ethics rules by getting family help in organizing a HUD event last year, The Washington Post reported Jan. 31. Carson's son's wife, according to federal records, was awarded a $485,000 Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) contract to her consulting company Myriddian, where she is chief executive. (Carson Jr. identifies himself online as one of Myriddian's board members.). The contract was awarded without a competitive bidding process, federal records show, although a CMS spokesman said multiple minority-owned firms were considered.
These are the most recent reports of the swamp-rising activities being foisted on U.S. citizens, after the Health & Human Services' Dr. Tom Price and the recent CDC Dr. Brenda Fitzgerald debacle.
I call on my elected officials to give their constituents a break and exercise the oversight they were elected to perform.
