Centre for Youth Development and Leadership Studies at Rajiv Gandhi University, Rono Hills, Arunachal Pradesh and Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development, Sriperumbudur, Chennai jointly organized “a three days Training of Trainers (ToT) Programme” for NSS Programme Officers on Youth and Peace Building from 29th to 31st January, 2018 at IDE Conference, Rajiv Gandhi University.

The three days programme was concluded on 31st January, 2018 at the Rajiv Gandhi University, Rono Hills. The valedictory session was attended by the Vice-Chancellor, RGU, Prof.Tamo Mibang along with other dignitaries. He delivered the valedictory address on the occasion and congratulated all the NSS POs who took part in the three days training of trainers.

Prof. Mibang appreciated and thanked the Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD) and Centre for Youth Development and Leadership Studies (CYDLS) for conducting this needful programme for the NSS POs of Arunachal Pradesh. He further mentioned that the RGU will work with RGNIYD in future towards empowering youth of the state.

Dr. Rambabu Botcha, Assistant Professor from RGNIYD thanked the Rajiv Gandhi University for organizing the three days TOT on Youth and Peace Building. He highlighted the active participation of the all the NSS PO during the three days programme and requested all the PO to take it forward and capacitate large number of youth in the state of Arunachal Pradesh.

Dr. Kaushalendra Pratap Signh, Chairperson, CYDLS highlighted about three days programme and expressed his gratitude to RGNIYD for doing this programme. This programme delivered the adequate content as designed to capacitate the NSS Progrmme Officers of Arunachal Pradesh.

The programme covered important issues related to peace and conflict such as understanding conflict, levels of conflict, factors influencing on youth to involve in conflicts, techniques of conflict management, understanding peace, role of various stakeholders in peace building, and contribution and efforts of noble peace prize laureates such as His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Martin Luther King, Mother Teresa etc.

Dr. Vasanthi Rajendran, Dr.Rambabu Botcha, Mr. John Gangmei, Mr. Gomar Basar, Dr. Kaushalendra Pratap Singh, Dr. A.K. Pamdey, and Dr. Madhuparna were the resource persons of the three days programme. Mr.Gomar Basar proposed vote of thanks.
