The senior used some late heroics to tie his 120-pound match in regulation then needed just 18 seconds in extra time to put away Pleasant Grove’s Oakley Ridge. “I did everything I could to get it to overtime,” he said. “My body just went into overdive and took over.”

Logan Jensen, Herriman

The senior won his second consecutive state title with a dominant 20-10 major decision over Pleasant Grove’s Jaxon Moore at 152 pounds. Jensen, last year’s Class 4A champion at 145 pounds, finished the state meet with a pin and two major decisions in four matches.

Terrell Barraclough, Layton

The junior turned in as dominant a performance as there was in the Class 6A meet. He claimed his third state title with a technical fall, two major decisions then a pin in the final against American Fork’s Rhett Miner at 126 pound.

Cole Moody, Bingham

The 182-pound senior fought back tears after pinning Syracuse’s Jayden Burton to clinch his third state title. “It’s pretty special to end my high school career like that,” he said. “I felt pretty dominant. Only two kids made it to the second period.”
