Commsworld wins GBP 30 mln contract to provide WAN for Glasgow

Scottish business ISP Commsworld will deploy a new Wide Area Network (WAN) for the city of Glasgow, after winning a contract from the city council worth GBP 30 million, ISPreview reported. The network will connect local schools, libraries and other council buildings to a new Gigabit capable full fibre network. 

The deal follows a related contract with CityFibre which will provide a dark fibre network to the city

Commsworld will also deploy an IP Telephony system for more than 16,000 council users and a 180 seat Contact Centre.
