HMD Global is reportedly rolling out the February Android security update for the Nokia 3 and the Nokia 8 smartphones. For the Nokia 3, the update will be available on the TA-1032 variant in India, the TA-1020 variant in Hungary, and the TA-1032 variant in Thailand. The Nokia 8 February Android security update will be available on the TA-1004 in India.

As spotted by NokiaPowerUser, the Nokia 3 has received a Google security patch with a file size of 79.3MB, while the Nokia 8 has received a monthly Google security patch with a file size of 86.9MB. The update will be received in the form of an automatic prompt. Alternatively, you can check for the update on your smartphone by going into Settings > System Updates and following the instructions.

The Nokia 3 and Nokia 8, with the update, receive a fix for a critical security vulnerability in the Media framework. This vulnerability was previously capable of potentially letting a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the handsets. Do note that Nokia 8 handsets running Android 8.0 Oreo will receive the patch.

Launched in February 2017, the Nokia 3 sports a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS display. The phone is powered by a MediaTek MT6737 SoC, coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage. The phone sports an 8-megapixel front and an 8-megapixel rear camera.

Meanwhile the Nokia 8, which launched in August 2017, packs a 5.3-inch QHD (1440x2560 pixels) IPS display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage. The highlight of the phone - which bears 13-megapixel sensors on the front and back - is its 'bothie' feature, which lets you capture footage from the rear and front cameras at the same time.
