Cyber cell nabbed two youths for their involvement in blackmailing a girl using her indecent photographs and extorting Rs 95,000 cash and jewellery.
The victim in her complaint stated that she used to receive vulgar and abuse messages over Whatsapp and was blackmailed by two youths using her indecent photographs.
The two have extorted money and jewelry threatening her of making the photographs public. After the victim lodged a complaint regarding accused who used to blackmail her using indecent photographs of her obtained over Instagram a internet based photo-sharing application and service.
Based on the complaint during the investigation the details were investigated and it was found that the Ejaz was behind the crime and was nabbed during the investigation. The accused was identified as Ejaz Ahmed who is a contractual employee with Waqf Board and a resident of Kamla Park.
He confessed that he developed friendship with the victim and later obtained her obscene photographs which he used to blackmail her. He extorted Rs 45,000 and jewellery from the victim. The accused confessed that he provided the photographs to his friend Fazil Hasan who extorted Rs 50,000 from the victim and purchased an Iphone which was recovered from his possession.
The police registered a case under section 354 C, 354 D, 384 of the IPC and 66 E and 67 A of IT Act and 11(1,2,3,4), 12,13 and 14 of the POCSO Act against the two accused and started further investigation.
