A Robeson County woman is accused of embezzling more than $30,000 over a two-year period from the company that handles parking at Fayetteville Regional Airport.
Melissa Shawn Melton, 52, of Weathervane Drive in St. Pauls, was charged Wednesday with 28 counts of embezzlement.
Melton is accused of taking $32,686 from Republic Parking System, which operates the airport parking facility, while working there, according to arrest warrants in the Cumberland County Magistrate's Office. The thefts happened from 2015 to 2017.
Melton, who suffers from a medical condition, was released on a written promise to appear in District Court.
