The FBI is searching for man wanted for his involvement in a drug-trafficking operation in Robeson County.
A federal arrest warrant has been issued for Andres Garza charging him with conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute a quantity of marijuana, a quantity of cocaine and a quantity of cocaine base known as crack, an FBI release said.
The warrant was issued by the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina, Southern Division in Greenville.
Garza is alleged to have been involved in the Robeson County trafficking network from 2011 to March 2017. The investigation began in 2015 after authorities discovered more than 2,000 pounds of marijuana sent via FedEx from Mexico to Maxton, the release said.
The group also was involved in trafficking cocaine and crack as part of a network with ties to North Carolina, Texas, Louisiana and Mexico, court documents say.
Five Robeson County men were sentenced to prison on related charges in federal court. One of them was Mitchell Ray Locklear of Maxton, identified by federal lawmen as the leader of the ring.
Garza is known to use different names and give birth dates of October 1965 and July 1964, the release said. He is 5-foot-8 and weighs 205 pounds.
His last known address was Eagle Springs, Colorado. He is known to have driven a black 2016 Dodge Journey and a silver 2006 Mercedes-Benz R50. Garza should be considered armed and dangerous.
