Telefonica Germany adds HD Voice to UMTS and fixed-line calls

Telefonica Germany has dded HD Voice capabilities for phone calls between its UMTS (3G) mobile network and fixed-line connections via its VoIP network. Customers can now benefit from higher quality sound as well as faster calling times via HD Voice. Both call participants are required to have a HD voice-enabled end device for the feature to be activated. 

The addition of HD Voice to calls between its UMTS network and fixed lines is part of Telefonica Germany’s ongoing efforts to introduce HD voice features across its network. The company has already rolled out HD VoIP for calls on its UMTS and LTE networks as well as for calls between its LTE network and fixed-line connections via VoLTE.
