THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister Kadakampally Surendran has said the campaign related to kidnapping of children is part of the well-planned attempts to create the impression there is insecurity in the State. “Those who are trying to implement here the kind of forest rule in North India will face strong action,” he said.
The minister said that in social media he had come across videos of migrant labourers being attacked by local mobs. “Beating up innocent people after making allegations that they are kidnappers of children is a shame for progressive Kerala. In the wake of certain isolated incidents of abduction of children, it is not right to start an extensive false campaign on it. Such baseless campaigns are spreading through social media, creating big scare in society. Some are utilising this opportunity to indulge in atrocities. Under suspicious circumstances, one should seek the help of police. No one has the right to take law in their own hands,” he wrote on his Facebook page.
