The sons of at least three Leftist leaders – CPI(M)’s  State secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, one of its central committee members EP Jayarajan and a Leftist MLA – are facing cases of serious financial fraud in Dubai and verdicts have already been pronounced in some of these cases. Keralites are wondering why cheating cases are coming up so frequently against Leftist leaders’ sons in the Gulf Country.

Binoy cannot leave Dubai as a court there has imposed a travel ban on him in a case of fraud worth AED 1 million (Rs 1.72 crore). Allegation is that he had duped a Dubai company of over AED 4.5 million by failing to repay loans. According to a company complaint, Binoy presently owes it AED 7 million.  A Dubai court had in December reportedly sentenced Bineesh to 2-month imprisonment in absentia in a criminal case.

Sreejith Vijayan, son of LDF MLA N Vijayan Pillai: Eight cases of financial fraud have reportedly been registered in five police stations in Dubai against Sreejith. He had left UAE for Kerala allegedly after committing frauds worth AED 10.03 million (Rs 18 crore).

Jithin Raj, son of EP Jayarajan MLA, CPI(M)’s central committee member: Jithin has allegedly been accused of committing financial fraud worth AED 5,25,000. When the allegation had come up in the Assembly the other day, Jayarajan has claimed his son had not duped anybody but had got trapped in the case just because he tried to help a friend by issuing a cheque.
