Kawasaki India Launches Ninja H2 Sx, Ninja H2 SX SE At Auto Expo 2018; To Compete With Yamaha YZF R1
Launched in Auto Expo 2018, Kawasaki's standard Ninja H2 SX is available only in black colour, while Ninja H2 SX SE will be available in garnish Ninja colours

India Kawasaki Motors has launched standard Ninja H2 SX and special edition Ninja H2 SX SE bikes at the Auto Expo 2018 on February 7.
While Ninja H2 SX has been priced at Rs 21,80,000, Ninja H2 SX SE will be available for Rs 26,80,000. The bookings for the bikes are open across Kawasaki dealerships in India.
The Ninjas are going to compete with Yamaha YZF R1 whose recent 2018 edition was launched in India in December 2017.
Arima from Japan is in charge of Ninja H2 SX and now he is on work assignment in India. According to him “Ninja H2 SX has it all to change your touring experience whether you enjoy winding through the mountains, riding across the plains, or just heading down the highways. The Ninja H2 SX SE is the way to supercharge your journey.”
There are little but noteworthy differences between the standard Ninja H2 SX and special Ninja H2 SX SE. For instance, the analogue-style tachometer is complemented by a full digital LCD screen in standard model, in special edition Kawasaki’s firsts including LED cornering lights, TFT LCD instrumentation, and 100 per cent LED lighting have been utilized to justify its tag of flagship model.
The standard Ninja H2 SX is available only in black colour, while Ninja H2 SX SE will be available in garnish Ninja colours.
Ninja H2 SX
Equipped with 998cc liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, DOHC, 16 valves engine that churns out maximum output of 147.1kW @ 11,000rpm and peak torque of 137.3Nm @ 9,500rpm.
It features KTRC (Kawasaki Traction Control), which offers three modes covering a wide range of riding conditions.
The Ninja H2 SX weighs 18 kg more than the Ninja H2 and has a power-to-weight ratio between that of the Ninja H2 and Ninja ZX-14R. It has a host of touring features like Electronic Cruise Control, and Kawasaki’s latest IMU-equipped electronics package.
Ninja H2 SX SE
Equipped with 998cc liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, DOHC, 16 valves engine that churns out maximum output of 147.1kW @ 11,000rpm and peak torque of 137.3Nm @ 9,500rpm.
It has some new features than the standard version - Kawasaki’s First LED Cornering Lights, Multi-Function TFT Colour LCD Meter, KLCM (Kawasaki Launch Control Mode), and KQS (Kawasaki Quick Shifter).
Kawasaki’s First LED Cornering Lights into each side of the fairing help illuminate the road when cornering at night. As the bike leans over, the lights come on in order, creating a wider illuminated path in the direction the bike is heading.
Kawasaki Launch Control Mode has been designed to assist the rider by optimising acceleration from a stop. It electronically controls engine output to prevent wheelspin and minimise wheel lift when launching.
Kawasaki Quick Shifter allows both clutchless upshifts and downshifts.
Yamaha YZF R1
Developed on the same racing DNA as its elder brother YZR M1, the Yamaha YZF R1 is available for Rs 20,73,074 (ex-showroom Delhi) and in two colour options - Yamaha Blue and Tech Black.
It comes equipped with 998cc liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, DOHC, forward-inclined parallel 4-cylinder, 4-valves engine that churns out 147.1kW of maximum power at 13,500rpm and 112.4Nm of peak torque at 11,500rpm. The engine is mated to a six speed transmission system.
The super-bike measures 2055mm X 690mm X 1150mm, with 855mm of seat height, 1405mm of wheelbase and 130mm of minimum ground clearance. It has a fuel tank capacity of 17 litres.
The YZR R1's Lift Control System (LCS) is updated with more progressive mapping that improves forward drive when the system intervenes. The compact chassis features a magnesium rear frame, long swingarm and track developed racing ABS.
With its central forced air intake, high screen and low headlight position, the YZF-R1's front cowl has YZR M1 race bike silhouette. Compact LED headlights on either side of the air intake and twin LED running lights emphasise the look.
