Suranga Lakmal took three wickets as Sri Lanka bowled out Bangladesh for 110.
Sri Lankan captain Dinesh Chandimal would have hoped his bowlers can get early wickets and bowl out Bangladesh in the first session. He was not disappointed by his team as his wishes came true. Liton Das and Mehidy Hasan started on a positive note and scored quick runs before Suranga Lakmal dismissed Das for 19. Hasan and Mahmudullah settled Bangladesh and took the total over 100. But the debutant Akila Dananjaya turned on the heat in the later stages of the session, picking up two quick wickets to dismiss Mahmudullah and Abdur Razzak. Smart fielding effort from Kusal Mendis gave te visitors another wicket as Taijul Islam got run out for 1. Mushfiqur Rahman was adjudged LBW on the very next ball from Dilruwan Perera as Bangladesh were bowled out for 110, giving Sri Lanka a lead of 112 runs. Sri Lanka lost Kusal Mendis immediately after Lunch. Dimuth Karunaratne and Dhananjaya de Silva took the lead over 150 after which the latter was dismissed by Taijul Islam for 28. After Mustafizur Rahman dismissed Danushka Gunathilaka before tea, while Dinesh Chandimal and Dimuth Karunaratne were dismissed in the third session. Mushfiqur Rahman took two in two balls to stumble Sri Lanka to 176/8 but Roshen Silva scored a fifty to take the visitors to 200/8 at stumps, leading Bangladesh by 312 runs.
