Chocolate Day 2018! Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan – 11 hunks who remind us of our favourite treats

The word chocolate conjures up delicious images of some rich, gooey, and nutty bars that have enticed us since childhood. We sure grew up but the love for all things chocolate just refuses to die down anytime soon. And while on chocolaty things, how can one not think of the chocolate boys of Bollywood. While the term essentially refers to someone with a rather cute face, we thought it would be limiting the versatility of chocolate manifold, wouldn’t it? After all, aren’t the different forms of chocolates all equally delectable? And hence, today, on Chocolate Day, we decided to pay an ode to the ever-so-sinful chocolates in the forms that we have known it in, since forever…

Milind Soman – Bournville

Milind-Soman---Bournville-4

Milind Soman is like that tall, dark and handsome slab of chocolate that is so unadulterated that he has to be the good ol’ Bournville. While other, fancier bars of chocolate may distract us from time to time with the promise of novelty, we will keep returning to the inherent goodness of dark chocolate. Same is the case with our love for Milind. We do veer astray, fawning over the gym-built bodies of actors but at the end of the day, we dream of dating someone like this Made In India hottie. Just like the fabled apples that keep the doctor away, a good chunk or two of dark chocolate is good for the heart too, and unless you are dating a cardiologist, that should be a good thing right? Reason enough to indulge in some ogling at this evergreen chocolate boy. But like all things good, remember, you have to earn him!

Shah Rukh Khan – Ferrero Rocher

Shahrukh-KHanChocolate-celeb

Gimmicks are temporary, class is permanent. Many chocolates have come and gone, trying to be a Ferrero Rocher but obviously, there is only one and hence it is still around. Ditto for the Baadshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan. He is a class apart but that’s not the only reason why we have termed him to be FR. If you are a connoisseur of the fine chocolate truffle, you would know how the chocolaty, nutty outer layer lends to a crunchy wafer shell and a chocolaty core. SRK surely is the only actor, who, along with being a marketing genius and amazing businessman, is a powerhouse of acting talent and amazing wit. It is that what sets him apart from his contemporaries and makes him so aspirational that every struggling actor wants to be the next him. But, there can be only one Ferrero Rocher, no?

Shahid Kapoor – Dairymilk

Shahid-Kapoor-Chocolate-celeb

Dairymilk was the first bar of chocolate that most of us must have ever laid our hands on. In fact, such was its popularity, that it became synonymous with chocolate itself. And who better than Bollywood’s quintessential chocolate boy, Shahid Kapoor to represent this childhood delight. Sasha has been our reference to the cliched good-looking Hindi film hero, whom we love and can’t get enough of. Sounds much like Dairymilk, right? What’s more…just like Dairymilk has remained the same, with only some packaging changes, so has Shahid. We have to give it to him that he does try to change his physique and styling for every film, but at the core of it all, he remains the actor whom we trust with a good film. Never change, Dairymilk and Shahid.

Ranbir Kapoor – Silk

Kiss me…close your eyes and miss me…Excuse us, we got a little carried away there. That is what Silk does to us. And that is also what Ranbir Kapoor does to us. A smooth talker, RK makes us forget reality and cements our beliefs in fantasies and fairytales. Silk, which is smooth and quite gooey, sells the same escape from the mundane everyday life, doesn’t it? But apart from the lucrative packaging and enticing promises, the rich, velvety texture of the chocolate bar comes as an added bonus. Just like Ranbir, who along with being a good-looking chocolate boy, is also a nuanced actor and performer. Now, who can resist such an interesting combination?

Sidharth Malhotra – Kit Kat

Sidarth-Malhotra

Sidharth Malhotra is quite a cutiepie. Ever since he made his debut in Student Of The Year, we have been drooling over his good looks and killer smile. All these years later, the actor still makes our hearts flutter at the sight of him. Similarly, Kit Kat, with its attractive packaging and wafery core, keeps us coming back for more. While we agree that the denser, nuttier chocolates are great as a treat, Kit Kat is like the best-friend that never disappoints. Kit Kat understands. Sidharth, with all his handsomeness, still seems quite approachable and someone you can chat up and share your secrets with. So, have a break, chat with Sidharth.

Hrithik Roshan – Bounty

Hrithik-Chocolate-celeb

If it wasn’t called Bounty, this bar of delicious coconut filled chocolate could have been easily marketed as fluffy clouds enrobed in God’s favourite food, cocoa. But, well, the name Bounty does it justice too. After all, no sooner do we spot a pack of this bar of goodness, we become bounty hunters and lap it up. Now, when it comes to Bollywood, we can only think of Hrithik Roshan to compare to the exotic magic of the bar encased in an equally alluring package.  HR, with his Greek God looks makes us wish we could look at him all day! And when he talks, he comes across as a spiritually ascended person, who certainly must be a Godsent. No wonder we think of Bounty when we think of Hrithik.

Varun Dhawan – Snickers

Varun (2)

Snickers has been marketing itself as this sturdy bar of chocolate that comes to your rescue when hunger strikes. When it comes to Bollywood, it seems like Varun Dhawan has been doing a fine job of being the man of substance. With all hits in his kitty, the actor is providing Bollywood with what it needs the most – money, thus ensuring his producers, the investors, distributors and exhibitors all laugh their way to the banks. Doesn’t a bar of Snickers, with its hearty core of peanuts, caramel and many other wonderful things, does just the same? Every time there is a mood slump, thanks to hunger, it comes to our rescue. VD, with his usual happy-go-lucky persona, is just the same!

Aamir Khan – 5 Star

Aamir-Khan--Chocolate-celeb

One of the first chocolate boys, who literally made everyone swoon with his quintessential cute boy-next-door looks, Aamir Khan can still make any girl go weak in the knees. Just like 5 star, that was offered to us as a reward for a good performance at school, Aamir’s films are rewarding and our secret guilty pleasure for when there is nothing else to indulge in. What’s more…most of his films score a perfect five star rating and his performance fetches the same numbers from the critics. There is no better chocolate to be synonymous with Aamir than the chewy bar of 5 star.

Salman Khan – Gems

Salman-Khan-Chocolate-celeb

Salman Khan is a gem of a person but that’s not the only reason why we compare him to the jewel-toned mini chocolate discs. We think just like Gems, that comes in various colours, Salman has a vibrant personality that helps him become such a favourite with the masses. He can pull off TV shows with such aplomb only because he is a people’s person. Gems, if you see, is a favourite with everyone too – right from the kids to the adults. So much so, that the brand even sold itself on being a favourite with even the senior citizens. Secondly, if you remember, every disc of the precious candy, no matter how colourful on the outside, has a core of pure chocolate. Just like Salman, who, at heart, is the same boy who bowled us over with his charm and innocence in Maine Pyaar Kiya.

Fawad Khan – Melody

Fawad-Chocolate-celeb

Yeh Fawad Khan itna chocolaty kyun hai? Oh sorry, we meant, Melody. But now that we think of it, isn’t Fawad Khan the epitome of chocolate boy looks? Just look at him – you can’t take your eyes off him just like you can never have enough of the candy that is Melody. What’s more, the name of the sweet is synonymous with the actor, whose words are like music to our ears. If you don’t agree with us, hear him dole out mundane dialogue in his Urdu dialect and we promise you that you would be a fan for life!

Ranveer Singh – Centreshock

Ranveer-Singh-Chocolate-celeb

Last on the list, but not the least for sure, Ranveer Singh has to be Center Shock! Yeah, yeah, we know, Center Shock wasn’t chocolaty at all and purists will probably kill us for including a gum-based candy in the list that is an ode to cocoa. But we couldn’t think of any chocolate that would be as crazy as Ranveer. Just like the candy, that is sweet on the outside, with a core of extremely sour liquid gel, Ranveer is a livewire, who shocks the living daylights out of us. And love him or hate him, you certainly can’t ignore the blur of energy that is RS. Just like, even all these years later, we remember the candy that made us gasp, Ranveer, with his impressive body of work and whacky attitude leaves a mark and how!

So which is your favourite candy…err…actor? Tell us in the comments section below, won’t you?
