The aim of the seminar is to create awareness amongst the policy makers and stakeholders. The seminar would bring intellectuals from all walks of life on one platform to spur ideas and channelized knowledge on ‘Inclusive India and Self Advocacy’ which would be very beneficial to enable a positive change for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities (PwIDDs).
The concept of ‘self advocacy’ is also gaining ground amongst the experts dealing with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Initiation and structure training in self advocacy helps persons with IDDs to be aware of their social skills and make them aware of their rights.
This Seminar will go a long way in creating awareness amongst the policy makers to create a synergy between schemes of Government of India and State Governments for the empowerment of persons with intellectual & developmental disabilities. PwIDDS have been invited to share their success stories. Let’s pledge to work together to create an Inclusive society.
