Marking the 30th anniversary of the Russian-Indian cooperation in the field of the peaceful uses of the atomic energy, Russia will offer full scholarship for five students from India to pursue master’s degree in nuclear technology at the National Research Nuclear University (MEPhI).
Chennai:
The five beneficiaries, to be chosen through an Olympiad test, will be eligible for 100 per cent scholarship including tuition fee waiver and hostel accommodation.
“We have reached out to city colleges and sent them model papers for the Olympiad test they are required to write for competing in the exam. This is the first time we are organising this and we will see the response we get,” said Mikhail Gorbatov, Vice-Consul of Consulate General of the Russian Federation in South India.
Students with Bachelor’s Degree in Science, preferably with familiarity in atomic physics and thermal physics and minimum of 50 per cent marks, are eligible to take the test. The applicant’s knowledge about basics and formulas related to fuel enrichment, radioactive decay, electric and thermal stations, and efficiency would be tested in the Olympiad.
