Ujjain: PIB organises rural media workshop ‘Vartalap’

Ujjain: Under the joint aegis of Press Information Bureau (PIB) and Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, a rural media workshop ‘Vartalap’ was organised at Hotel Atharva, on Thursday.
Ministry of Information and Broadcasting ADG Vasudha Gupta said the media should do the task of taking Central government schemes to the layman. She said the objective of the workshop was to know how the plans were being implemented and also to get information about the steps that should be taken by the Government. She further said the best feedback on why a plan was created and how it is going on could be given only by a rural reporter. Presentation of ‘Ujjwala’ and ‘Beti Bachao’ schemes of the Central government were also discussed in detail.
During the workshop, senior journalist Sunil Jain, Vikram University retired library chairman Sharad Nagar and Ramesh Das also presented their views. The workshop was conducted by regional publicity officer, Dilip Singh Parmar. A symposium was also organised in the workshop. It was suggested by the reporters that articles about various schemes should be made available in Hindi, on the website of the Central Government.
