Samantha Ruth Prabhu will kick off 2018 on a fantastic note, with three of her films gearing up for release in two days during the last week of March. Samantha's Irumbu Thirai and Mahanati/Nadigaiyar Thilagam are slated to hit screens on 29 March and Rangasthalam is scheduled for 30 March release. Samantha is paired opposite Vishal for the first time in the film.

She wrapped up the shooting of Ram Charan's Rangasthalam directed by Sukumar on 3 February and is currently prepping up to begin the remake of Kannada hit U-Turn, which is planned to be made as a Tamil, Telugu bi-lingual. U-Turn remake will be directed by Pawan Kumar, who helmed the original Kannada version and produced by Srinivasa of Silverscreen. Samantha is planning to complete the shooting of the film in three to four straight schedules before moving on to other projects.

Samantha is also known as the ‘controversy queen’ because of her frank and forthright views on everything under the sun.

In Irumbu Thirai directed by debutant PS Mithran, Samantha is paired opposite Vishal. The film, which is produced by Vishal's home banner Vishal Film Factory, revolves around unethical hacking and the exploitation of private information of citizens. Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed the music for the film, which is currently in the post-production phase. "I felt like Vishal was younger than me because he had incredible energy on the set. It was wonderful working with him. His look and performance in the film are definitely his best," Samantha had said at the film's teaser launch.

Mahanati/Nadigaiyar Thilagam is the biopic of late yesteryear actress Savitri and the story of the film, which features Keerthy Suresh in the titular role, is narrated through the eyes of Samantha, who essays the role of a journalist. Dulquer Salmaan, Shalini Pandey, and Vijay Deverakonda have played important roles in the movie, which is produced by Vyjayanthi Movies.

Ram Charan's period drama Rangasthalam, which is set in the backdrop of a village, will see Samantha essay the role of Ratna Prabha. The movie is produced by Mythri Movie Makers and has music composed by Devi Sri Prasad.

Samantha has also been shooting for Aaranya Kaandam fame director Thiagarajan Kumararaja's Super Deluxe, where she plays the role of Vaembu and Sivakarthikeyan's untitled film with director Ponram. It looks like 2018 is going to be an exciting year for the actress, who tied the knot with Naga Chaitanya last year.

Meanwhile, there are reports that the makers of Super Deluxe are working hard to send the film to the esteemed Cannes Film Festival 2018, whose submission deadline for feature films is announced as March 5.
